Avery had HER 1st ever sleepover with HER friends. We invited 2 girls from the neighborhood and 2 girls from her class (which she was SUPER) excited for those two to come over. One of the girls from her class, Grace, was only allowed to come to the party but not stay for the sleepover for fear that she would not be able to make it the whole night. Avery was not happy but got over it once everyone showed up. Emma was the other girl from her class that had never slept over a friends house before but her mom thought that she would do just fine. The party was great w/ a petshop cake that Avery decorated, picture frame crafts, a walk to the duck pond and presents. Everyone got into their pj's and layed out on the living room floor to watch a movie. Once the movie was over we moved everyone upstairs and during the set up of the sleeping arrangements Emma slowly lost it. She was having no part of sleeping over and wanted to go home. So, I left the house at 9:30 p.m. with Avery crying on the stairs saying that "this was the worst sleepover EVER". Broke my heart that this didn't work out for her :-(

Happy Easter!
We had several Easter Egg hunts. Avery had one at school, we all had one with Morgan's girls scout troop and of course one at our house Easter morning. It was so fun because this was the first year that Brycen knew what he was doing and loved searching for the eggs.
Waiting patiently for his eggs to dye.
The Easter Bunny led the kids on a carrot hunt with various clues to lead them to the next and ultimately to the golden egg which had a BIG surprise in it.
Avery found the golden egg and inside it said...........................that the kids were able to go pick out a puppy!!!
The new puppiessssssssss, yes, you read that right. Not 1 but 2 dogs!! Our logic around it is that they will keep each other company and the kids will not have to fight over just one. Cross you fingers that we made the right decision.

Morgan had her 1st communion. She was so proud. Even though it is not a rule at our church but we made it a rule as a family that you are not able to take bread at communion unless you have gone through the communion classes. I want my kids to really know WHY they are taking communion. Avery is NOT happy that Morgan can have bread and she can't. Sucks being younger sometimes.
